Galveston Shopping
The Galveston Strand
shopping district is one of the main attractions of the island
with stores housed in elegant Victorian buildings, leisurely horse and carriage rides,
gorgeous window displays, and stores full of merchandise from around the world.
With all the art galleries, antique galleries,
gift and collectible boutiques, and dining establishments,
one could spend several days exploring fully the intricacies of The Galveston Strand and
Downtown Galveston.

I was told that there is a business in Galveston that carries a large selection of Fiestaware.
Can I get a name and possible web site for this store?
Thanks

We will be in Galveston next weekend on the 12th-14th. What time do the shops stay open on weekends? And what is the one thing you recommend we see while we're there. (We'll be going to Moody Gardens also)

Most stores stay open until at least 6pm on the weekends. I'd, of course, recommend coming to The Strand. While you're there, I'd recommend seeing the Texas Seaport Museum & the Tall Ship Elissa. You can find more information online here: http://www.tsm-elissa.org/

Hi..What shop or boutique can you recommend for buying shoes, bags and perfumes? My husband is staying in Galveston and he doesn't know where to shop the goods to be sent here in the Philippines. I'll appreciate it so much if you can write to me at hrpascua2001@yahoo.c om.

I lived in Galveston many years ago (around the middle to late 1980's) I had a picture made on The Strand at a photography shop. I'm sure it's gone now but I would like to contact the photographer, as I am in remission from cancer and hope to get a copy of a picture that was made of me there. I think it was McDonald's photography but I could be wrong. Can anyone help?

Does anyone know which store on The Strand carries "Crocs"? It's a type of shoe. Saw them there a year ago, but cannot remember the shop! Thanx!

I recently saw adorable soft mermaid dolls in a shop on The Strand, I can't remember the name. The shop has a small food market in the front, clothing and gifts. Anyone know the name?

I LOVE the Admiralty. The place is a unique and wonderful shopping experience. Bill, the manager, is helpful and knowledgeable and he has helped us to decorate our West End home with his suggestions. EVERYONE must go to the Admiralty, you will make it a regular stop on any visit when you are in Galveston.

I can't say enough about Douglas Mens Store in the Old Galveston Square building next to Chicos. I found high quality items at reasonable prices along with personalized service...a rare combination these days! Sure beats any mall store!

Does Maggie's have a web site? I really love their "maggie" candle, but find it very hard to get to Galveston.

Does Maggie's or Tina's have a web site. I will not be making my annual trip ot Galveston this year, but I really need to replenish my candle supply. I go to Maggie's every year just to stock up for gifts and personal use.

Thank you for asking about what is now called Tina's (previously Maggies). Our website is not yet completed but you can pull it up at Tinasonthestrand.com . Until then, please call us with your candle or decorative and clothing needs. 409-762-6816. We still have the special candle, now called "Tina's Blend" and all of our great seasonal square candles. We look forward to seeing/hearing from you! Thank you for your business!
