The Grand 1894 Opera House is one of Texas' oldest Opera houses,
is listed on the National Register of historic buildings, and was
declared in 1993 by the 73rd Texas Legislature as "The Official Opera
House of Texas."

The Grand is a 1,040 seat house with state of the art performing, cinematic,
and lecture capabilities holding 3 to 5 different productions throught the month
all year round.

You guys need to get Ricky Skaggs to play your House. I saw him up in Austin last week and I think his band would sound great here and all the blue grass people in the Houston area should at least fill the House for one show at least. I really think you need to check into. He sold out 2 shows at 300 people each in Austin. I know he could better that here..anyway my two cents..Thanks, Jp.

The Grand Oper House is the host for the best Natural Bodybuilding pro show in the country. The Southern States Pro features the biggest and best bodybuilders from the U.S right here in Texas. It is a manificent show of extreme physiques. On April 28th and 29th the pros are coming back to compete and so will I to watch.

We are looking for any infoabout the history of the 1894 Grand Opera House. My wife's great uncle, Frank Cox, built it. We have a few items such as news releases and personal writings but thought you might have more in yous archives. Would be glad to share what we have with you.
